I generally take care of most of my questions during the initial email back and forth, but I generally ask that we touch base via phone ( either text or phone call) about a month out from your appointment.
I require all large pieces ( such as sleeves, chest, back, neck) or tricky placements ( such as knee, elbow, or face) and coverups to come in for an in-person consultation. If you are not able to make it in to the studio, I might ask for a Zoom call.
-
The short answer is Yes.
I usually ask that you come in so I can take a look at the scars to be covered and will ask questions about age.
I'll never ask you to divuldge the origin of your scars, the above info is mostly needed to know if they are healed enough to tattoo.
Top surgery scars need to be at least 18 months healed prior to tattoing.

I love doing coverups!
Tattoos can be covered, but not all.
For coverups, I generally will ask for you to come into the studio so we can talk options and I can take well-lit photos of the tattoo to be covered.
Some coverups may require multiple sessions. If you are unable to travel to the studio we will discuss options.
I may refer you out if I believe my skillset does not match what is required to cover your tattoo.
In some situations, I will refer you to Removery to get a session of laser removal or two if the tattoo you're trying to cover is too dark.

I offer different types of sessions, because I've learned over the last few years that I have clients with different needs/ wants for their sessions.
I have clients who want to just get it done and want to sit for 5+ hours. My Full-Day and 2-Day sessions are for them!
I have clients who just want to let me do my thing, and trust me 1000% with their design, and I love this , so I wanted to make it a little more cost-effective for them with the Creative Freedom full or half days!
My hourly sessions are for my clients who want to take things at their own pace, which I love and full support!
You can read about all these session types on my Custom page!

As of 2024, I am not allowing my clients to use numbing creams, as the FDA has warned against long-term health effects . Due to this, I can't in good conscience allow you to use something that might harm you later in life. You can read about this on the FDA site here.
I do however have several products that are approved for use on broken skin or during the tattoo process. These are:
Bactine ( applied on breaks, and ocassionally during the tattoo process)
B Numb Numbing Spray - this one I use less liberally, and only employ when the client is having a hard time during the last 45 mins or so of the appointment.
I reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your appointment if a numbing agent is applied before your arrival without my consent.

No. I do not send drawings or sketches before your appointment. Period. If you are coming to me for a tattoo, this means that you like my artistic taste/style enough to trust me to make you a rad tattoo! I also factor in the first 30 minutes of your appointment to go over the design to make sure you’re happy with it.
If you’ve scheduled an Full-Day or 2-Day session, I will send you one sketch ahead of time, upon request.
If you are neurodivergent and need additional processing time, please let me know and we will work something out!

I do offer touchups, for a $50 setup fee. This cost just covers my basic expense for setting up for the touchup.
If you book a touchup at the same time of another piece, or if you need a touchup on a piece due to any tattoo technical error, I will do so for no additional cost.
